Starlings mainly habituate buildings. They are often to be found in lofts and soffits. The starling has now been added to the ‘Endangered Species’ (January 2005).

Once nesting has started, there is nothing that can be done until the breeding season is over. Once the season is finished they can congregate in thousands and put on a fantastic aeriel display, especially during the winter months. The perching/roosting of this quantity can cause serious damage to buildings with a mammoth build up of guano.
